Directions to Inn Bliss OR Architect's Inn From the Newport Visitor Center Come out of the parking area and take a right. At the stop light, take a right onto America's Cup Ave. At the next stop light, take a left onto Marlborough St. (There is a baseball field and fire station on the corner.) Follow this road until the end. Take a left onto Broadway. The next stop light is the intersection of Friendship and Broadway. Go straight through this intersection and Bliss Road is the next street after Friendship on the right. Take a right onto Bliss Road. Look for parking now. Inn Bliss is located one block down on the left up on a small knoll. On-street parking is available on Bliss and Bradford. Bliss Road is a one-way so be careful not to pass us. Ring the doorbell for assistance. From Providence/ Western Massachusetts/T. F. Green Airport Take 95 South to Rte 4 (Exit will be on your left) Rte. 4 turns into Rte. 1. Take the Rte. 138 exit. Follow Rte. 138 over the Jamestown and Newport Bridges (Newport Bridge has a $2.00 toll). Take the first exit ramp off the Newport Bridge. At the end of the ramp, take a right. At the first set of lights, take a left onto Van Zandt Ave. Go straight until you hit Broadway. Take a right onto Broadway and then take your first left onto Bliss Road. (Bliss Grocer & Cafe and Newport Prescriptions is on the corner.) Look for parking now. Inn Bliss is located one block down on the left, up on a small knoll. From Boston/ Maine/Vermont/Canada/New Hampshire Take 93 South to Rte. 24 South. (Be careful as Rte 24 turns onto Rte 195 West for 1 Exit and then you must take your first exit to continue on Rte 24.) Rte. 24 South turns into Rte. 114 South. Follow Rte. 114 South through Portsmouth and Middletown. Rte. 114 South turns into Broadway at the Middletown/ Newport town line. Continue down Broadway but SLOW down when you pass Gibbs Rd on the left. The next left will be Bliss Road. (If you come to a stop light, you missed it! (Bliss Grocer & Cafe and Newport Prescriptions is on the corner of Bliss.) Turn left onto Bliss Road. Look for parking now. Inn Bliss is located one block down on the left, up on a small knoll. To Get to Architect's Inn (2 Sunnyside Place) from Inn Bliss If you are in the Redwood, LaFarge, Perry Suite, Belmont, Woodbine Cottage Suite or Standard Room Program, please check in with the Innkeeper at the 2 Sunnyside location also known as the Architect's Inn-George Champlin Mason House. From Inn Bliss, continue down the one way to the next stop sign. Take a right onto Gibbs Ave. Go until you come to a stop sign at Old Beach Road. Take a Right onto Old Beach Road. We are the second driveway on the left past Red Cross Ave. The house is yellowish with a white trim on the corner of Old Beach and Sunnyside Place. Ring the doorbell next to the big black door for assistance.
The T.F. Green Airport (PVD) is only 38 miles from Newport. You can find flights on the following airlines: US Airways, United, Continental, Southwest, New England Airlines, SATA, Spirit, Northwest, Delta, Cape Air, Air Canada and American Airlines. Though flying is good if you are traveling from great distances, we normally do not recommend it if you are traveling from within 400 miles for Rhode Island. It can sometimes take longer to fly. For example, when you factor in getting to the airport, check in, luggage claim, renting a car, etc, it actually takes longer (and cost more) to fly to Rhode Island from Washington D.C. than if you were to drive the 7.5 hours. Though there are some exceptions so you might want to check Travelzoo, Expedia, AAA or Cheaptickets to see what is best for your area.
